#037 | "Because I Can Hear Your Organs" with Marie Manuchehri, RN

ree

Welcome to a truly unique episode of Life with Ghosts: Let’s Chat! In this post, we delve deep into the remarkable journey and practice of Marie Manuchehri, RN—an acclaimed nurse, medical intuitive, energy healer, and teacher. Full of candor, humor, and warmth, Marie shares her story about blending hard clinical science with profound, mystical experiences that have shaped her life and thousands of others.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like for a nurse to hear a patient’s liver “speak,” or how intuition blends with medicine and mediumship, you’re in the right place. We cover Marie’s early days as an oncology nurse, her breakthrough intuitive experiences, and her passionate mission to help people heal—both physically and spiritually. Let’s dive in!

Meeting Marie: An Unusual Beginning

Before Marie became well known for her work in energy medicine and intuition, she was just another face in the bustling world of modern medicine—an oncology nurse. Her days were spent among IV pumps, surgical charts, the beep and whir of hospital machinery, and the palpable hush that settles when someone slips away.

But Marie’s journey took a sudden turn. She didn't go looking for it. The mystical came right up and tapped her on the shoulder—literally, through a patient’s liver.

"You were working as an oncology nurse, and one day a patient's organs started talking to you... Which organ was it? And what did it say?"

This is not your everyday hospital story.

That Night in the Hospital: The Liver Speaks

Marie recounts the first time she realized she could “hear” organs. It began on a night shift while she was caring for a female patient. She remembers focusing on the patient’s white cotton blanket, almost getting lost in it. Her gaze deepened, and suddenly it was as if she traveled—through the blanket, the patient’s nightgown, even her skin—straight into the liver.

What Did the Liver Say?

"I was in the liver and it was talking to me and it asked me just to kind of sit with it for a little while. And as I was sitting with the liver, huge, like smoke of repressed energy started to remove itself from the body."

Marie sensed the patient’s deep anger and huge amounts of repressed grief. The liver, she says, wanted company and presence. As Marie “listened,” she felt an energetic transformation occur—like a smoke of old pain and energy leaving the body.

Blending Science, Spirit, and Energy

Marie was steeped in spirituality growing up. Despite her family’s objections (they wanted her to pursue naturopathy), she was drawn to the busy world of hospitals. But those early spiritual roots laid a foundation for her later experiences.

She explained:

  • Medical Science: She was highly trained, vigilant, and deeply responsible as a nurse.

  • Spiritual Curiosity: She read spiritual texts from a young age and began taking meditation classes, knowing there was “more.”

  • Energetic Awareness: After meditation and trust in her own senses, she began to “hear” and “see” energy—first in the hospital and then beyond.

Her first major energetic experience was intertwined with her love for nursing—but it would eventually pull her in a whole new direction.

Coming Out: Sharing the Experience at Work

Telling hospital colleagues you can “hear” organs is no small thing. In medicine, practitioners are expected to rely on evidence, not intuition. Marie, full of integrity and concern, worried her new experiences might distract from her duties as a charge nurse.

"I have a lot of integrity...I was worried that I was hearing all these psychic voices. I was having mounting psychic experiences every day... But I was worried that as a charge nurse, I would not go and alert the code team if somebody was to code on our floor."

She was vigilant—her personal rule was that no one would code (have a cardiac arrest) under her watch. She always transferred patients early if she sensed trouble.

Despite her fears, she approached her nurse supervisor, expecting skepticism or even suspension. Instead, her supervisor surprised her:

"She goes, 'Oh, you're seeing energy. You need to start laying your hands on our patients.'"

The Hospital: Support, Surprise, and Hands-On Healing

Marie’s supervisor and a handful of forward-thinking physicians gave her remarkable support. Eventually, even doctors requested that Marie lay hands on their patients. Sometimes, they even wrote official orders for "therapeutic touch."

"They wrote an order: please go do therapeutic touch. So then I would have to go lay hands on their patients. That's where I trained myself. I'm a self-taught healer, and I trained while working on patients in the hospital."

Her first session? A patient who’d had a body part removed, suffering from unrelenting pain, unable to leave the hospital. After Marie’s session, the patient’s pain subsided, and she was discharged the next day.

Energy Medicine Misconceptions

Energy medicine is still misunderstood—even dismissed—by many. But Marie shares that her path has generally been met with support, even curiosity:

"I don't attract people that I have to convince about anything. It's very rare that I have someone who's not aware of who I am or what I do or doesn't know something about energy or anatomy..."

When she did encounter skeptics—like a friendly infectious disease doctor who could “only take so much”—it was with humor and respect.

Marie is quick to clarify that her job isn’t to convince, but to teach and empower others to discover their own intuitive abilities.

Marie’s Road to Teaching Intuition

Today, Marie is recognized as:

  • A sought-after energy healer and intuitive

  • A podcast host

  • The author of Intuitive Self-Healing

  • A teacher to thousands interested in spirituality, intuition, and wellness

But she believes everyone can learn intuition—not just those “born gifted.”

The Core of Her Work

Marie emphasizes that intuition is normal, not mystical or rare. She sees our collective development trending toward “multi-sensory” awareness—where everyone can tune in to their energy, communicate with their departed loved ones, or sense the needs of their bodies.

"I think it's normal to be multi-sensory. In fact, I think that's where we're evolving to collectively—to at the very least be able to read and understand our own lives and talk to our departed loved ones. I think that's normal and healthy, and so I want that for everyone."

A Guide to Listening and Feeling: Techniques for Intuition

Curious how Marie helps others tap into their own body’s wisdom? She offers a simple, powerful process to get out of your “thinking mind” and anchor yourself in your body’s emotional truth. Here’s a quick rundown:

  1. Rest in the Lower Body: Get out of your head—and move awareness into the lower body to access authentic feelings.

  2. Eyelid Exercise: Close your eyes and gently roll your eyeballs upward for a few breaths.

  3. Waterfall Visualization: Imagine a waterfall flowing from your head to your toes, washing energy downward.

  4. Hand Connection: Experience your hands as if they’re sinking into whatever they’re touching, anchoring you in the present.

  5. Check-in Question: Silently ask, “What am I really feeling right now?”

  6. Explore Sensations: Let the feelings rise and stay curious about the experience. No judgment—just observation.

"Most humans operate on mind-made emotions...they don't know how to quiet themselves. Intuition is calm, it's peaceful, it's loving, it's always surprising. I've learned to trust it over the years."

Detachment and Joy: The Ultimate Intuitive Tools

One of the surprising keys in Marie’s toolkit is the art of detachment—or “non-attachment,” as co-host Gary suggests. The point isn’t to not care, but to step back enough to allow true guidance and intuition to come through, unclouded by fear or overthinking.

Simple Ways to Detach

  • Claim Joy: Surround yourself with things you love (Marie likes to gaze at heron art).

  • Go Outside: Nature is a shortcut to relaxation and joy.

  • Practice Non-Attachment: Let go of the outcome, even if it’s just for 20 minutes.

Marie teaches that connecting with your authentic joy is the fastest way to elevate your vibration and connect to guidance, whether you’re seeking intuitive healing or hoping to reach loved ones in spirit.

"How you detach is to be connected to yourself in authentic joy. That's why sometimes people have a hard time communicating with their loved ones—it's hard to get out of grief...you have to trick yourself and get authentically happy for just moments."

Stress, Disease, and the Fifth Chakra

Marie is frequently asked: Does stress cause disease?

Her answer: Yes—but with a twist. Disease, she says, is never a punishment but rather a message from the higher self.

"When people have a health issue, it's really your higher self asking you to come inward, to have an experience, to learn something new about yourself."

She links this to speaking your truth—an essential function of the fifth chakra (the throat). She notes that thyroid medication is the most prescribed medication in the U.S., hinting at how many people are blocking their own true voice.

Ways to support your fifth chakra:

  • Speak your truth, even about small things ("I really love the color blue!")

  • Notice where you withhold your real feelings

  • Explore gentle ways to self-express

Building a Bridge to the Spirit Realm

A big part of Marie’s work involves showing people how to communicate with departed loved ones and spirit guides. But how, practically, does one build that bridge?

Marie’s Steps:

  1. Elevate Your Vibration: The higher your energy, the stronger the bridge.

  2. Disengage from the Mind: (Again!) Step out of logic and relax into a more open state.

  3. Ask for Help: Call on guides, God, or the universe.

  4. Notice Early Messages: Often, people feel or sense departed loved ones in the days or weeks after a death, buoyed by the high energy of sympathy and love around them.

"Everyone is meant to have a connection to their loved ones. It's not really a foreign thing. It's actually very, very normal."

Mediumship, Miracles, and Memorable Stories

Marie’s tales about “the other side” aren’t just hospital myths. She’s had repeated, powerful, specific experiences with patients and spirits, sometimes getting information nobody else could have known.

The Blue Cloth and a Mother’s Voice

Early in her mediumship, Marie was walking down a hospital hallway when she heard a persistent voice: “Go see my son.” She describes seeing a floating, blue silk fabric with a woman’s face in it, urging her all day. Finally, Marie followed the intuitive nudge, found the patient's room (which seemed to “glow”), and connected with the patient’s mother in spirit.

"She told me her son wasn't going to pass away during this admission, even though he was very ill. She wanted him to know he would go home. And his sister didn't even know that that's what he was worried about. So they both were crying and I communicated with what his mom said."

Intuitive Medical Wins

Marie’s intuition has often been validated by doctors or the medical system:

  • She scanned her granddaughter’s hand after a door injury and accurately determined it wasn’t fractured, even after an urgent care doctor called it broken. A follow-up with a pediatric orthopedist confirmed Marie’s reading.

  • She once guided a man with a hand growth (believed to be cancer) to use near-infrared and red light therapy after getting an intuitive hit. The tumor vanished—even the doctor was amazed.

FAQs: Accuracy, Risks, and Results

Marie is straightforward about her accuracy—and her willingness to share intuitive impressions, even when they go against mainstream thinking.

Q: Isn’t it risky to tell a woman her breast lump isn’t cancer, but just caffeine?A: "If somebody wants to call me and find out my opinion, that's their decision. I always do ask all my clients to have checkups. Always. My accuracy is high, so caffeine, unfortunately, can create cysts in women's breasts. But I don't think of it as a risk. If I get an intuitive impression, I want to pass it on."

How Accurate Is Marie?

"My spirit guides told me years ago...they gave me a number...86%."

She’s candid: “Most people who come to me have already been to the doctor, they’ve already had every test known to man.” And she urges regular medical follow-up, even while trusting intuition.
